Jane Smith brings more than three decades of EMS experience. She began as a field paramedic with the San Francisco Department of Public Health and later served with the San Francisco Fire Department, rising to EMS Chief/Assistant Deputy Chief. She oversaw implementation of the department’s first paramedic program.

Jane co-founded the San Francisco Paramedic Association and served as its chief executive. Her background in public service, EMS leadership, and community initiatives informs the Foundation’s work connecting EMS and public health.
